Overview

Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Sojourner Center’s custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and overall first impression of the campus. This person understands that a clean, clutter-free, well-maintained campus provides a healing environment for survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault and sex trafficking. The custodian is responsible for creating and executing a cleaning schedule for all facilities.

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

 

Pay-Rate: $20.00/hour

 

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform the work.
  • Experience using specialized equipment specific to this job description.
  • Driving agency or own vehicle to travel from campus to campus.
  • At least age 21.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company.
  • Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Physical Factors/Working Conditions

  • Exposure to various cleaning substances/chemicals.
  • Some travel between work locations may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work on a 6-foot ladder.
