Overview

Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 9:00am-5:00 pm

 

Rate of Pay: $22.00-$23.00/hour

 

Job Summary: The Compliance Coordinator supports the Contracts and Quality Assurance Department by reviewing, evaluating, and ensuring compliance for all outputs/operations funded through approved contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes exceptional organization to review data on reports, track submissions of reports for internal and external stakeholders to support with grant compliance.
  • Tracks and monitors the completion of Staff Activity Reports and Time and Effort Logs for each required contract. Sends regular communication to Program Leadership with outcomes of the reviews and coordinates follow-ups for incomplete records.
  • Supports in managing compliance with contractual training requirements. Maintains comprehensive list of staff training requirements and oversees annual mandated training schedule for direct services; coordinates and co-facilitates staff trainings as appropriate.
  • Works with program leadership to remain apprised of employee status changes and updates contracts employee position lists with any changes.
  • Works in conjunction with the Grants Manager and Contracts Manager with providing technical assistance in monitoring grants to Program Leadership teams. Recommends and coordinates actions necessary to resolve identified compliance concerns.
  • Supports with monitoring and tracking expenses, including approved purchases through grant funding. Ensures that invoices and expense request in this area meet contract requirements.
  • Conducts on site first level audits on equipment and vehicle logs on a quarterly basis. Understands and participates in the completion of documentation required for the program and in accordance with established guidelines/consistent with Quality Assurance standards.
  • Coordinates with Programs to conduct case file reviews on source documents; coordinates the review of data entry for accuracy and contributes to the quality of services.
  • Performs audits, related to data entry, QA processes, and contract compliance.
  • Supports by training residential staff regarding data related processes and the functions of Apricot.
  • Assists with basic calculating and computing functions as needed (tabulating reports from financial system, assists with conducting reviews of financial projections, budgets and monitors budget to actual).
  • Prepares and reviews expense documents; audits monthly contract expenses for receipts and other documentation requirements.
  • Supports with completing first level review on monthly billing for each contract and elevates areas of discrepancies. Ensures that invoices and expense request meet contract requirements.
  • Data mines unbillable expenses and documents to recover contractual financial reimbursements in allowable activities and shares information to leadership by identifying areas of improvement and facilitating solutions.
  • Support the agency in identifying inefficiencies and making recommendations for streamlining process.

Qualifications

  • Four years of post-secondary education and at least six months related experience, OR an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • Work experience in family violence programs strongly preferred.
  • Experienced with reviewing complex policy and procedure manuals.
  • Contracts and compliance knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Supervisory or Lead experience preferred.

Physical Factors/Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in an office setting.
  • Requires the use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Some travel between work locations and within the community required.
