Overview

Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.

 

Job Summary:

The Facilities Coordinator works directly with the Facilities Manager and community partnersoverseeing projects, facilities requests, vendor relationships, vendor contracts and work order platforms to ensure completion of facilities asset management and participant priorities and needs in a timely fashion. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for assessing, coordinating of all facilities maintenance and repair, assigning work orders, coordinating third party vendors to perform professional building maintenance tasks and repairs on all Sojourner Center campuses (e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing) with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

1. Communicates with contractors and vendors. Supports with managing contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables. Oversees coordination
of timely and high quality repairs. Manages the relationship with community partners, vendors and all stakeholders.
2. Monitors progress and implements change when necessary in order to meet project goals.
3. Maintains a strong awareness of and commitment to asset stewardship at all campuses.

4. Honors all regulatory standards and contract obligations for the maintenance of facilities.
5. Reports regularly to the Facilities Manager regarding preventive maintenance activity, strengths, and variables
6. Provides support with a variety of building maintenance tasks and repairs on all Sojourner Center campuses and may assist with special agency projects.
7. Acts as a liaison to programs to ensure that staff are aware of upcoming facility related projects, coordinates with programs to assure safety and prepares for inconveniences to Participant lives.
8. Coordinates work with facilities personnel, providing support, guidance and resources in the pursuit of asset stewardship.
9. Supports in overseeing the effective accomplishment of preventive maintenance and custodian responsibilities, providing support, guidance and resources for Facilities personnel; utilizes
database tools for the planning and monitoring of the preventive maintenance tasks.

 Schedule: Monday-Friday (some weekends and evenings may be required)

Qualifications


• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Arizona Driver License proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company.

 

Physical Factors/Working Conditions
• Ability to work in a retail/warehouse setting.
• Ability to drive and operate a box truck and perform pickup and delivery of donated items.

• Ability to lift and move large pieces of furniture and other donated items.
• Requires the use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
• Travel between work locations and within the community is required.
• Scheduled hours include Saturdays, requires flexibility for occasional schedule changes.

• Ability to lift at least 60 lbs., bend, stretch, twist and be able to be on feet for long periods of time.
