Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.

 

Job Summary: the Food Services Coordinator provides efficient, organized, and abundance-based food service to Sojourner Center participants. Responsible for the flow of shift and supervision of Food Service Workers. Holds on-call responsibilities.

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Weekends and evenings as needed for on-call rotation.)

 

Rate of Pay: $20.00/hr.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site training for food service staff on CACFP policies and procedures.
  • Monitors monthly menu review including meat types and times, meal components, meal counts, menu review and paperwork documentation.
  • Ensures foods are prepared and served following food safety guidelines and quality standards.
  • Ensures CACFP meal component requirements and menu modification for special needs are being met.
  • Attends all required CACFP training and completes all program application requirements yearly.
  • Conducts 5-week cycle menu meeting all USDA meal requirements with Child Development Center Director.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year food services experience. Culinary training/education and related college degree preferred; Nutrition training a plus.
  • Experience working in a commercial grade kitchen, two years kitchen management experience required, management of multiple locations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tracking inventory and ordering food service product from commercial distributors.
  • Ability to obtain Certified Food Manager Card.
  • Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
