Overview

The Communications Intern role will support planning, designing, implementing and monitoring Sojourner Center’s marketing collateral, communications, and social media along with supporting database administrative needs of the Philanthropy department.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of communications and collateral (physical and electronic) in accordance to current brand standards
  • Maintains SC’s Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn ensuring each is brand compliant, culturally relevant, and displays an intelligent, modern approach to utilizing each platform
  • Responsible for the execution of tasks associated to developing, collecting, writing, filming and photographing content for SC’s social media platforms.
  • Develops and executes engaging email campaigns and newsletters that align with Sojourner Center’s mission, programs, and fundraising goals
  • Updates company website including blog, and coordinates with the website hosting company to maintain the SC website
  • Designs and gathers relevant information and content for print and digital collateral projects, performs preliminary copyedits, and coordinates approvals
  • Manages the system to track the progress of various communications and fundraising campaigns with Bloomerang (donor database)
  • Checks on the progress of projects, communicating with the team as needed, regarding information updates and pending deadlines
  • Accurately record donor gifts and pledges, including all needed gift details, into Bloomerang (donor database)
  • Maintain up-to-date donor records, including contact information, giving history, and preferences
  • Document donor touchpoints and sent communications in Bloomerang
  • Manage acknowledgement letter templates, generate and send timely acknowledgement letters
  • Support the implementation of online fundraising campaigns with department leadership.

  • Has a working knowledge of design platforms such as Canva
  • Preferred to have working knowledge of communications tools like Constant Contact and WordPress.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company.
